Formals are based on what you want. I don't tell you what poses we are doing, you tell me. I am always available to assist you by giving you suggestions that can help you decide what you want to do. As well as listen to ideas about poses that you have created. There may be a photograph that you saw somewhere and want to do a variation on it. I am more than happy to bring that concept to life.

One thing I do not do is poke and prod you until everyone is asleep. Formals should be taken quickly and professionally so everyone can get back to the celebration of your wedding. A couple of quick snaps and each formal is done. Almost all of my formals are taking without giving direction to the participants. Most people have had their photograph taken so many times that they know instinctively where to stand. Letting them stand where they want to is more comfortable for them. They will feel and therefore look more relaxed and natural.

I like to capture candid moments throughout the day. This includes during your formals. If you have an extensive list of formals, I will set them up and then continue to capture candids at the same time. There is always something happening that should be captured. Like the bride's Father and friend watching the above formal of the girl's being taken, waiting their turn.
